Eclipse Evidence of the Power of the God

Eclipses, both solar and lunar eclipses, are both proof of God's power, that God exists and God is all-powerful.

During the time of the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu a Alaihi Wasallam, an eclipse had also taken place. At that time there was a solar eclipse, which coincided with the day of the death of Ibrahim, the son of the Prophet.

There were some people at that time who commented that the solar eclipse was due to the death of Ibrahim. It was as if the sun and moon were sorry for Ibrahim's death.

So, the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu a Alaihi Wasallam immediately warned that the occurrence of a solar and lunar eclipse was not due to someone's death or birth. The Apostle taught when Muslims saw it, then to carry out eclipse prayers and pray to Allah.

"Indeed the sun and the moon are two signs of the greatness of God. Both eclipses do not occur because of one's death and not because of one's life. So if you see this event pray to Allah and be happy, and pray and pray, "said the Prophet.

The occurrence of eclipses is a sign of the majesty of Almighty God, moving every planet in the universe, to be in one line, during the eclipse.

This is as it says in the verse:

وَمِنۡ ءَايَـٰتِهِ ٱلَّيۡلُ وَٱلنَّهَارُ وَٱلشَّمۡسُ وَٱلۡقَمَرُ‌ۚ لَا تَسۡجُدُواْ لِلشَّمۡسِ وَلَا لِلۡقَمَرِ وَٱسۡجُدُواْ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَهُنَّ إِن ڪُنتُمۡ إِيَّاهُ تَعۡبُدُونَ

It means: “And among the signs of His power are night, day, sun and moon. Do not bow down to the sun or to the moon, but worship the One who created it, if you worship only Him. ”(Q.S. Fushilat [41]: 37).

In another verse Allah states:

وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلَّيۡلَ وَٱلنَّہَارَ وَٱلشَّمۡسَ وَٱلۡقَمَرَ‌ۖ كُلٌّ۬ فِى فَلَكٍ۬ يَسۡبَحُونَ

It means: “And it is He who created the night and the day, the sun and the moon. Each of them circulates in its circular outline. (Q.S. Al-Anbiya [21]: 33).

That's how God created this universe with all its rules as evidence of His greatness, greatness and perfection.

One of the extraordinary phenomena of the universe that God appears to humans in is the eclipse, when one of the celestial bodies covers the other.

Almost all the books of jurisprudence also discuss eclipse prayers. This shows that the scholars are very much aware of the eclipse event. Generally the discussion includes the implementation of eclipse prayers and its principles that are derived from various hadiths of the Prophet.

That is, He is the God who has the power and authority over everything. He is the God who rotates day and night, directing the movement and movement of space objects, from the smallest to the largest. And He is the God who brings the eclipse whenever He pleases. All beings obey and obey Him.

Occasionally the eclipse provides a lesson and a warning to us humans, to repent of sins immediately and to practice mercy and to perform various acts of worship to draw closer to God
